The fact that nature and the universe is much more mysterious than anything you can think of and imagine. We can't even see them but we have proof they exist.īringing hard science like singularities of the black holes and general relativity in Interstellar, and if you can't find anything thought-provoking about it, than it's your loss. We know so much about it and yet we know so little. Take it and bring it to extreme and that's where black holes come into picture. It points to the physics and the language of universe: maths. Things we all take for granted, like how satelliets have to be in synch with Earth's time so your gps system and everything else could work etc The fact is we couldn't live without it. Interstellar also explores theories of relativity unlike any other movie. There's also a great deal about philosophy and how it parallels 2001:A Space Odyssey, using Nietzsche. We are curious beings and natural born explorers. In a way Interstellar is turning to our real roots, that's exploration. When the Earth from Interstellar starts saying we need to save ourselves and go further it will be a little too late unfortunately. How NASA and other space exploration programs will be once again dominant instead of wasting all those trillions of dollars on wars and silly things. The govs do nothing because it's still not making huge effects on us in present day.īut you can bet your ass when things start to 'shake', how all these rich snobs and governments will move into action. We are completely disregarding serious climate change since the industrial revolution that's not seen in 100 million years. There's many lines in the film indicating how ignorant and how selfish our actions in todays world are. It was never about whether nature 'punished' us or we were to blame for the dust and dying out. Our survival depends on us and how we perceive this little fragile world.ĭust storm and things like blight is just one part of the criticism this film presents. We are nothing but a pale blue dot to the vastness of space. There are many thought-provoking things in Interstellar.īut above anything else, Interstellar succeed in what many movies failed to do, and that's looking up.Īny child or non-science person that looks up after the movie is a huge bonus to the intentions of Interstellar.
